LUCINDA GORDANI It was colder then normal when I ventured out today, maybe thats what drew me back to Wilson's Park--Although everyone knew it as 'Lucinda's park' because I was the only human who would come here. Or maybe it was because I hadn't seen Matthew in ages after our not-too recent Griffin Cascade. Yes, that was it, I came to see Matthew, to try and salvage the wreckage from our last breakup and Griffin and I's last get together. And if spending a few cold hours in my favorite place would do that, then I'd gladly do it.

The breeze from the ocean nearby blew at his face, the cold, midnight air surrounding him. He continued on anyway, crossing his arms over his chest and shivering. Through the darkness, he could make out the slim, fragile figure of Lucinda. The first thought that came to mind was, Fuck that bitch. But for some reason, it disappeared quickly, eventually morphing into memories of when they were together and reminders of why he was still so in love with her.
His footsteps were practically silent as he approached her, and he hoped to sneak up on her. A small grin slowly spread across his face, though it disappeared upon remembering that he was no longer here to love her like Griffin was allowed to. He let out a quiet sigh, reaching her and wrapping his arms around her from behind. "Hey beautiful," he murmured, pulling her near him and kissing the top of her head.

He was cold. It was always a surprise to her how cold he seemed compaired to Griffin. She smiled her eyes fixated on something a thousand miles away as she turned her head slowly. After a moment she broke her trance and turned in his arms, leaning against him. "Hello Sweetie."

Matthew shivered, even though it wasn't cold for him in the least. It might have been the thought of holding Lucinda when he couldn't really say it was because of love. Well, to him it was. To her, it was a different story. Remembering this, he backed away, letting go of her and shoving his hands into his pockets. He wasn't going to show her affection if she wasn't going to return it.
Taking a step back, he raised an eyebrow, all anger about their most recent break up returning. "What did you want me here for? It's midnight, don't you have other places to be?" he muttered, every sense of the hatred for Griffin that he felt pouring into that sentence. Of course she had other places to be; Griff's bed or something, eh?

The negativity in his voice poisoned her mind and made her take a step back in response. "I missed you believe it or not. Griffin hates me seeing you so I don't for his sake." She paused and turned on her heel, moving the conversation from the side walk to the grassier area of the park. "But I didn't see that fair to you nor me." Pausing again she stopped under the low light of the streetlamp. "So, when Griffin told me I wasn't allowed to come over tonight I figured it the perfect opportunity to see you- Am I wrong?"

Frowning, he knew she was right, though he didn't acknowledge it right away. "Well I/ don't want you hanging out with that bastard," he responded bitterly, adding after a moment, "And yet you go ahead and do it anyway." He sighed, his eyes traveling over her. He missed her, but he wouldn't admit it. They were through and it was her fault.
He took another step back, leaning against a tree and closing his eyes as he breathed in the fresh air. On one hand, he was hoping she would just leave, although he knew he would follow her. On the other hand, he wanted her to come up to him, wrap her small arms around him, and stay there forever.
Don't fool yourself with fantasies, Matthew.

Lucinda nodded, walking her fingers up the lightpole as she circled it. "You're right. He is a bastard." Her voice was eerily calm as she said it, as though she was stating that it was a wednsday, or she was tired. The light flickered twice and made her stop in her tracks and glance up at it.
"He's cheating on me you know." She said, her palm flattening against the pole as she swung herself around. The motion left her balanced on one leg, her arm wrapped around the cool metal and her head tilted back so if her eye's were open she'd be looking at him. "She's pretty." She wasn't bitter about it, more of curious. All the time they'd spent arguing and he didnt even stay with her.

... what the hell.
"Lucinda, how did you find this out?" he questioned, opening his now very widened eyes. He didn't know how to react to the news. He should have been glad, because this meant that he could now hopefully have her. Then again, if he really loved her, he'd feel bad for her - ha, screw that. He would show concern, but underneath, he was pretty pyshced that he had gotten another chance.
With a frown for Lucinda, he stepped over to her, pulling her to him again. He wasn't angry anymore. She didn't even sound that sad by this news, though he supposed it was better that way. Maybe she didn't like Griffin so much more after all.

She opened her eyes as he pulled her against him, but didnt pull away like she would normally have. Didn't tell him to stop or that it was wrong. "I saw it." she said simply. "That's why I wasn't allowed over tonight." She pointed out, then tilted her head back against his chest to look up at him. "You're eyes are really pretty at night." she noted.

He scowled, his hatred for Griffin only growing more and more every day. "Fuck him," he muttered. Maybe he was able to at least respect him while he was dating Lucinda, but now that he was cheating on her, all of that vanished. He glanced down at her gentle, innocent face and shook his head in disgust at the boy. "I'm sorry."
He raised an eyebrow as she spoke, telling him his eyes were pretty at night. "Well, uh, thank you," he responded quietly, tapping her chin so that she was looking up at him. "Does this mean my second chance has come?"

Laughing softly at his comment her eyes wandered from his face to the dark blue behind him. She didn't want to say 'yes' because that would make her just as bad as Griffin, and a cheater. "You still want me?" She questioned, turning around in his arms to look up at him face to face.

He breathed in, kissing the top of her head and then, as she turned to face him, pressing his lips against hers, too. "Of course I do, Lucinda," he murmured as if it were obvious, pulling away just slightly. "And I'll fight for you if I have to. You know that; I've done it before and I'll do it again." He nodded slowly, bringing her closer to him and smiling to himself as her warm body contrasted with the cold of his.
"Besides. You don't want him anymore, do you?"

Kissing him was not how she'd expected the night to go, but it deffinately made her feel better about the current situation. She lowered herself to the ground, tugging him down with her as he pressed her against him. "I forgot about that." She said, talking about his how nice his kiss was and ignoring his question. She didn't know if she wanted him anymore and that was the truth. Wanted him jealous, yes, to crawl back to her and beg yes. But this was Griffin we were talking about. That was never going to happen. "I don't want him like I used to, now I just want to hurt him. Which isnt fair to you."

"You want to hurt him, eh?" Matthew repeated, sliding down against the tree and pulling her closer. He lifted his eyebrows, shrugging. "I could make that happen," he offered with a chuckle, though all kidding aside, he wouldn't have any second thoughts. He would kill Griffin in a heartbeat. Yes, that he would do.
With a sigh, he lay all the way down, staring up at the stars and willing for Lucinda to lay on top of him. He only wished they could make it official; he hated being out here and feeling bad about it, although he knew that he deserved her so much more than Griffin did now.

Lucinda sat with her legs crosses, running her fingers along her calf and watching him out of the corner of her eye. She knew he wasnt kidding, he'd hurt Griffin if it ment he'd get to be with her again. But maybe that was how it was suppost to be? That's how it'd been in the first place. Lucinda and Matthew. Pushing the thoughts away she scooted towards him, laying on her stomach beside him, and placing her head on his chest. "I'm tired." she murmured
