Lydia watched him, not sure of his reaction. It confused her that he was acting this way. She didn’t understand what he was tying to get at as he stood there struggling. Perhaps she had taken it too far but she didn’t think so. She was trying to figure out what was going on.
There was a part of Lydia that felt like she had done something wrong to Leo. He had been about as cruel to her as he had been calm, and she took more or less everything that he said at face value. Had she missed something in that context. Had she overlooked some kind of clue from him. She was used to fight or fail, she was used to not trusting after all.
It was way too difficult to figure out how this all was going to work. She was shocked by what he said to her. But I would like to know who said it would be a one night stand. That nearly left her speechless where she stood. Her jaw dropped out of surprise, unsure how to answer him, unsure how to put a name to all of this. She blinked a few times, trying to gather words but she could not manage.
Instead she let out a breath and shook her head. “Wait.” She tried to think of something else to say to him but she wasn’t sure. Still her expression said it all. She hadn’t gotten the message that he might like her. Still she felt bad right now. She sighed and shook her head, Her expression one of surrender. “Here, I’m…. I’m just going to leave…” She turned and walked over to the door, pulling it open.

Leo turned when she said wait. He arched his brow slightly, still looking a bit hurt. Then he sighed at the rest of her words. "Okay, whatever," he murmured softly. "You can still stay if you want to, Lydia, I don't mind. But I'm not keeping you here, so, yeah, go, then. Night." He opened the bedroom door, stepped in, and didn't look behind him. However, he did keep the door open long enough so that Saber could trot into the room as well. The knob made a soft clicking sound as the doorway closed, and Leon's sigh probably went unheard.
He stood for a moment, facing his dresser over which there was a mirror. He knew usually only girls had mirrors in their bedrooms (or he thought that, anyway) but he didn't care, quite frankly. He stared at himself, wondering what on Earth he could keep screwing up on. He shook his head. "Whatever," he whispered to himself again.
Leo shimmied out of his shirt and his jeans, lastly his socks, before pulling on a pair of sleep pants. He crawled into bed without a word. Saber was just as quiet; he ran back a few feet, and crouched down. When his little doggy mind figured that this was a good enough distance, and he would probably make it onto the bed, he ran and jumped. He had calculated well: with a little squeak of surprise, he landed right next to his master.
Leo curled up on his side beneath the blankets. It was very cool in his apartment, even though outside the air was still humid enough to be considered uncomfortable. He reached out, grabbing Saber and bringing him to lie against his chest. Moments later, Leon was asleep; a shallow, fitful kind of sleep during which he was probably going to end up knocking Saber off of the bed.

The only possible word to describe how Lydia was feeling was frustrated, and that made her angry. Why should she be so frustrated over a stupid git like Leo. Perhaps she just felt bad that she had done what she had done to him, but hadn’t he played a million games with her since they had met? She still felt a need to somehow make it up to him. She knew how she could do it but it was going to take a few hours at the very least. She balled hr hands at her side, she’d do this and then she’d leave.
Lydia started to pick up, trying to find the best place for everything in this small apartment, and also trying not to make too much noise. So she folded blankets, threw out trash and generally cleaned up. She found enough change in the couch to run a few loads of laundry, though not daring to venture into his room to get any from there. Then she pulled out the vacuum, finding it not too noisy and went to work.
Net came the kitchen, which was scrubbed, mopped, put away, and generally disinfected. Once that was neat and very nearly sparkling she went to work on the bathroom, which was easily the most terrifying. She covered her face as she scrubbed that one, but she managed to transform it from yellowish to more of a white. She nearly patted herself on the back for that. It had all taken a good long time but now she could leave.
As she stepped out she felt herself blinded. This had taken longer than she thought. She immediately darted into the nearest closet she could find and curled up next to the vacuum. The sun had already risen, it was too late for her to leave now.

Leon slept through her scrubbing and cleaning. He was a light sleeper, when he first fell asleep. But after his mind just let go of everything, and he snuggled closer to Saber, his body relaxed into that golden, solid state of unconsciousness that some find hard to reach. He slept through his alarm buzzing for a solid ten minuets; he slept through Saber waking up, whining loudly and scratching at the door because he needed to be walked; he slept through Saber deciding that he'd use Leon's favorite pair of work boots as a toilet.
When his eyes finally did flutter open, he felt extremely refreshed for a few glorious moments. Then the stench of dog-pee slapped him across the face, as well as the recollection of what had happened the night before. Along with the slightest of hang overs, Leon soon found himself plunged into an unpleasant mood. He sat up, sighing deeply and looking at the clock. He'd missed a full day of work, great, his boss was going to kill him. It was around six o'clock, maybe even seven. His bleary gaze couldn't make out the numbers, but he knew it was night time--he was hungry enough to scream about it.
But he didn't scream, of course not. He leaned forward, sighing deeply and stretching, simultaneously snapping at Saber. Saber whined softly and retreated towards the corner of the room to lay down, covering his eyes with his paws. Leon rose, took the boots, and tossed them into the bathroom's trash. Oddly enough, the bathroom seemed cleaner than he remembered. Huh. Weird.
He paused a moment, finding himself about to turn on the shower. Was Lydia still there? He opened the bathroom door, peeking his head out and scanning the area. There seemed to be no sign of her, anywhere--but it sure as hell looked a lot cleaner than he'd last seen it. What was up with that? Had he sleep-cleaned or something?
He shook his head. After that he just shut the door and took a shower, trying to forget again about everything. He decided that when he finished with his shower he'd make dinner. Mac and cheese, probably, that was his favorite next to pizza. He didn't have enough cash on him to order a pizza, though, so he'd settle with mac and cheese.
Still figuring he was there alone, he stepped out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist. Saber followed him happily for a moment, but then began to sniff. "What's wrong, boy?" Leo asked, glancing down. Saber stopped, his nose to the ground. Then he darted forward, stopping in front of the closet door. Leo's eyebrow slowly raised. "Ooh, big, bad, scary closet," he said sarcastically.
Saber didn't move.
Leo sighed. "Fiiiine...." he grumbled, shaking his head. "I'll make sure there's no monster in the--HOLY SHIT!" And, as he opened the door, he found--next to the vacuum he didn't know he had--Lydia. (At least, she's probably still there, isn't she?)

Lydia had huddled in the closet in the aftershock of the sun exposure. She looked at her hands, waiting to see if they bubbled up or tinged red. Neither happened. It had been a close call but she had been alright in the long run of things. She knew that such incidents were dangerous to say the least, and it was all she could do not to scream when it happened. Luckily she found herself logical enough not to do that.
So Lydia sat there for a few minutes. This was a terrible situation. She didn’t want to be in Leo’s house, she didn’t want to be in florida, but then again she had done all of this to herself. Why the hell hadn’t she just walked away? That would have been a good idea, and evidently she wasn’t too good at those. She let out a frustrated sigh before sitting there quietly, as there was nothing else that she could do. She leaned against the wall and soon her head started to droop. She fell asleep where she sat.
Lydia did not wake, even when Leo opened the door and exclaimed. She was a heavy sleeper after all. Her level of sleep during the day was nearly catatonia. Luckily now the sun had moved, and the forms of Leo and Saber hid whatever sun was left from hitting her. It was setting after all. She stirred a little, but just barely. Instead she lay there as if she had been knocked out and stuffed into the closet.
She would likely wake up soon.

"Uhmm...." Leo stood there, staring down at her, his hand protectively on his towel. "Saber. Stay." He glanced down at the dog expectantly. Saber looked back up at him. His tongue lolled out of his mouth cutely, and he yipped softly.
Leo gently ruffled the puppy's fur before slowly walking backwards and away. He entered his room, threw on a pair of jeans and a clean-smelling t-shirt--quickly combed his hair, added socks to his attire--went to open the door, realized he hadn't put on underwear--quickly refrained so that he could pull on some underwear--went to open the door again, this time, without pants--stepped back, pulled on his pants....
While Leo was having his spazz-attack, Sable lumbered forward and started to lick Lydia's face. He was very gentle with his licking, and he did so sweetly, whining and pawing at her, obviously just innocently trying to awake her.
Leo finally stumbled out of his bedroom, fully clothed and completely confused. He joined Saber, crouching down next to the dog and gently shaking Lydia's shoulder. "Lydia, wake up."

Lydia didn’t move of course, she was dead out. She just stayed slumped uncomfortably in the closet, and she was going to have one hell of the crick in her neck when she was done. Her legs were over the front of the vacuum in an attempt to have enough space.
However her body was no where near ready to wake naturally if the sun was still out. It just was not how things were going to work, it wasn’t going to happen. She didn’t even move when saber licked her face. Strands of her hair had spilled out of the knot that she had put it up in. She was not going to move, she was not going to awake to find Leo in a towel. Luckily for them they would be spared that awkwardness.
Lydia’s head rolled to the side but that was about all the movement she made, despite maybe a twitch of her fingers. It wasn’t until Leo shook her that she jolted awake.
Lydia started slightly, her eyes flew open and looked around, confused as to where she was at first. Then she bit her lip to keep from cursing. “I’m sorry Leo, I meant to leave. I really did.” She felt like crap for staying here and her neck was aching.

Leo smiled weakly.
"It's okay," he murmured quietly, averting his gaze quite shyly to his feet. He held out his hands to her, offering silently to help her up. "You just scared me is all. I figured if you had been going to stay, you would have slept on the couch as I offered, and not...well, in a closet." His laugh was even more feeble than his smile, and it even sounded a little forced. "I'm not mad, though, it's perfectly fine that you did stay."
When he spoke that last sentence, he looked her in the eyes to prove to her that he was being serious. And then he shrugged lightly, glancing over his shoulder. "You don't have to stay any longer, though, you can leave now if you want, it doesn't matter."
Saber barked happily before bounding to gnaw at some kibble. In turn, Leo snorted.

Lydia blinked a few times in order to try to wake herself up. She tried to smile but only made it about half way. She had her answer for that statement about the couch. “Well I was cleaning…” She stopped, how did she explain that one? She felt back about what she didn’t to him and so she cleaned? But what she had done to him was totally acceptable. She took the hand he offered and managed to get up.
Dam her neck hurt, and she tried to rub it with a hand.
“I was doing something and when I got out it was morning, so I just went in the closet. It was either that or get burned to a crisp. By the way, now that you can see you own a vacuum cleaner, you might think about using it.” She could not help the jab.
She stepped out of the closet, and realized it was still light enough out to leave her blinded for a moment. She immediately buried her face in the nearest thing, which happened to be Leo’s chest.

"Why did you clean?" he asked curiously, looking down at her with a larger grin. He laughed quietly, shaking his head. "Oh, Lydia, you didn't have to do that." Pausing, Leo glanced at the vacuum cleaner. "Will do, will do!"
When she was suddenly pressing her face into his chest, Leon jumped slightly. He was confused. "What's--?" He glanced over his shoulder. "Oh, the sunlight." He gently placed a hand on the back of her head, cradling her gently. "But the sun's setting? Oh, whatever, guess it doesn't matter."
Slowly he walked backwards, keeping one hand on her head to signal her to keep her face there. With his other arm he reached out, simultaneously glancing at the curtain. When he was close enough, he yanked it shut. Barely a sliver of the pale orange light was visible in result; he repeated this process three times, since there were three windows in the room. The entire time he kept his hand on the back of her head, his thumb lightly stroking her hair. When he finished, he stepped back, his arms falling to his sides. "There ya go," he murmured.
He regarded her for a moment, and then started towards the kitchen. "Your neck sore from sleeping so funny?" he asked as he took down a cereal box and a bowl.

“It was dirty,” she murmured into his shirt. It was the obvious answer but on the full truth. She sighed and then continued. “And I felt bad about last night so I cleaned it up and then I was going to leave. Obviously I took too long and then I got stuck in a closet.”
She thought about if she could back off and make it back into the closet when his hand came up to the back of her neck. She tensed for a moment, worried that he could push her back and away, but instead he simply seemed to hold her. She closed her eyes for a moment as he did, taking comfort in it that she probably didn’t deserve. Still it was so seemingly gentle…..
She moved with him around the room, trying not to trip over his feet or hers, but she was graceful so she knew how to move for this. It was almost like a dance except she could not see where she was going at all. She tried not to let out a satisfied noise as he stroked her hair, she wished he would aim it more towards her neck as that was still killing her. One of her arms was wrapped around his waist, and the other held the side of his shirt, that was until she felt him step away. She let go as well, blinking her eyes in the now darker room.
She rubbed her neck. “Yeah, I’m ridiculously sore. It’s my neck and back, but oh well, that happens, I’m ok. I have slept in worse situations.” She yawned, she was still a bit tired.

Leon simply shrugged in agreement when she said it was messy, because, well, it had been, hadn't it? He nodded his head slowly to the rest of her words, and then crouched, rooting around in the cabinets beneath the sink. "I've got something that might help," he murmured quietly, taking out a oddly shaped object. It looked like a giant sock; on both ends there was a blue, nylon-rope handle. When he tilted it, the gentle pattering sound of rain could be heard; obviously it was filled of sand of some sort.
He threw it in the microwave before pouring his cereal and milk. By the time he'd gotten his breakfast ready and put the milk away and whatnot, the microwave groaned to a shuttering stop and he opened it. Now the odd "sock"--which wasn't really a sock, since it was completely closed and shaped somewhat cylindrically--was warm. "Heat helps sore muscles," he told her, striding over.
He very gently wrapped the object around her neck, staring down at her as he did so. He let his hands linger there for a moment, his thumb caressing her chin. And then he had his back to her; he retrieved his bowl of cereal, sat down, and began to eat.
Through a mouthful of Marshmallow Maties he mumbled; "If tha' don' 'elp, than try a Ty'en'l?" He was silent for a moment. "You di'nt 'ave ta--" He swallowed. "You didn't have to clean, you know, but, thanks."

Lydia waited as he pulled out the sock thing. She was not sure what to say to him, as she wasn’t sure she wanted that around her. She just watched it go around in the microwave. She had to admit it made a nice sound, but she failed to see how it was going to relieve her aching neck. It was a curious looking thing anyways, she wasn’t sure about it after all. She was not sure what she was supposed to do with it, but if he was heating it then it was probably going to hang on her somehow, though she wasn’t sure if she wanted it to, given where it could have been. That could end up as a dangerous situation, on the ick factor.
She understood when he came over and put it around her neck. It was a relief to have its warmth soaking into her skin. She looked up when he put it there, her eyes locking onto his. She turned her head when she felt his thumb linger. She was just short of brushing her lips over the thumb but he was gone just as quickly it seemed.
She paused for a moment, trying to think of what to do with herself. She had neither eaten nor fed in a while, she would have to go do that soon. She should probably go out tonight in fact. However she was going to wait until the sun set the rest of the way.
Lydia walked over to Leo, approaching from behind and looking over his should at what looked like a children’s cereal. She resisted laughing at it. She reached out, her fingers running over his neck where the bite marks were.

Leon adored children's cereal. He didn't know why, he just did. It was simply amazing. Probably because of how much sugar it was packed with. He continued to slurp quietly, eating most of the marshmallows first and leaving the chocolate cereal pieces to get nice and soggy in the mean time.
Horripilation burst forth on his skin when she ran her fingers over it; he glanced back at her, his eyebrow arching slightly. "That kinda tickles," he murmured, reverting his gaze back to his cereal. He was quiet for a long while, pushing the cereal around with his spoon. He wondered something...
Was it possible? No, it probably wasn't...but then again...hadn't it happened before? Yes. To who? Oh, crap, what was that kid's name...Harold...Henry...Donny! Wow, he was off by a long shot. But it had been Donny. Donny Buckerson. He remembered the boy well; but hadn't he been lying? Everyone had said he'd lied...but Donny...Donny never lied.
He was silent for a moment longer, and then: "Are you hungry, Lydia?" His voice was very soft, almost inaudible. "Or do you just like tracing those wounds?"

Lydia had no idea what was going through Leo’s head but she was far from worried about it. She was focused on him but at the same time she was not, not at all, not one bit. It was like his presence around her had become part of her consciousness. It was unintentional of course.
However she knew something about werewolves and vampires, and she was fairly certain that she had made a mistake. She had left venom in him, she had accidently forced an imprint. She drew closer to him, her chest very nearly against his back. The wrong that she had accidently committed needed to be righted.
“Leo…” she started, then she told him everything. She old him how she had been sloppy, she told him how she thought that she had left venom in him. She admitted that it might have forced an imprint by some fluke. She was sad to say it, as there was a part of her that really liked Leo. She thought she honestly did. “I need to fix this, I’ll be gentle, I swear.” She put her hand on his forehead and tilted it back.
Lydia kissed his neck once before she bit, being careful to cause him as little pain as possible. She found the venom, just taking a drop of blood with it. She licked to heal the scars and held onto him in case he needed her to.
