"Welcome to my humble abode," Leo said with a little laugh, stepping out of the elevator and across the room towards the first door there. "Really hate living in apartments, but, they're not that bad. Just wish the freaking walls were thicker. I really don't need to listen to my neighbors conceiving a child." He fumbled in his pocket as he spoke, looking for his keys. When he found them, he shoved the key into the lock and turned it. After the following quiet click, he shouldered the door open and stepped into the room, remembering after a moment where the light switch was.
Dull yellow light flickered the main room to light. The layout of the apartment was somewhat simple. The kitchen and dining room lead into the living room, and in the living room there were two doors. One lead to the bathroom, and the other to the bedroom. Being he lived by himself, he didn't really bother to straighten things up...ever.
So he kicked his shoes off quickly, putting them in a somewhat neat jumble of other shoes by the door, and began to run around, trying to make the place look decent. There was an old box of pizza left open on the counter; the slices of pizza looked to have been getting moldy. He snapped the box shut, running over to the garbage and dumping it in. With a sweep of his arms he picked up all of the empty soda bottles and cans, dumping those in the garbage too. With that junk out of the way, the kitchen looked nice...er. One of the chairs were upended on the table, and there was a pile of newspapers in the corner next to two silver bowls, one filled with dog food, the other water; the water was spilled across the pale white tiles unattractively.
Leo bounded over towards the living room side, neatening the few blue throw pillows on the tan couch. He swept the chips off of the wooden coffee table into his hand, carrying them over to the garbage can so they could join their useless brethren. As well he picked up a bunch of clothes that were, for some reason or another, lying around. He bustled off into the open bathroom door, dumping them into the hamper that hid inside.
And then he was standing in the middle of the living room, staring at his bedroom door. "Uhm...do you like dogs? 'Cause my dog likes people a lot, he's, well, a jumper...." He glanced behind him, towards the door, where he knew she was probably still standing, and then back at the door to his bedroom.

Lydia had followed Leo, as she had been given the option to do so. She was not sure how comfortable she felt with this whole situation. After all she was not sure just how much bad blood there was between them. It would be fairly simple for him to kill her in her sleep, or the opposite. That was a risk she was just going to have to take in this situation. Of course she could have found somewhere else but she was also trying to repair damages. Perhaps accepting his hospitality would do that to some effect, as big headed as he was. She would sleep there and that was it, in the morning she would leave. It was that simple, and that was going to be all that she did there.
Lydia watched with some amusement as he scrambled to pick up all that he had left out. She tried to be polite and look at something else but the giant mess drew her eyes. Lydia was a fairly neat person and all of this almost made her laugh. Instead she stood on a clear patch near the door, tapping dainty fingers together.
She did remove her shoes like he did. She didn’t want to track anything around his house. Her socks were rather worn out but it wasn’t like she smelled. She tried very hard not to laugh as he worked to cover up his messes. She was nervous to touch anything. She sort of edged around the room to the couch, and she perched on the arm of it, as it looked the cleanest.
She raised her eyebrows when he said he had a dog. Why was she not surprised. “Oh, it will be fine. Animals tend to not be very fond of me, I doubt he’ll come near once he smells what I am.” She kind of hoped that it was not a big dog all the same.
Lydia ran a hand through her hair, getting some tangles out.

Leo laughed a bit. "Okay," he said, shrugging. "He's not that afraid of people, whatever they are, oddly enough. Don't be afraid if he jumps on you or sniffs your butt a lot. He's also a big butt-sniffer." Walking over to his bedroom door, he opened it and walked in. There was the sound of him cooing and laughing at the dog for a moment, and then he could be heard scrambling about to clean up.
The dog curiously trotted from the room, sniffing the air wildly. When he saw Lydia, his ears perked up. For a moment, he barked. Leo poked his head out of the room and snapped, "Saber! Bad boy! Be nice! She won't hurt you!" He bopped the dog on the head lightly with a rolled up magazine before shooting Lydia a weak smile and disappearing.
Saber stood there, wagging his tail and staring at Lydia. He was somewhat of a big dog, but it was clear he was a mutt. In his blood were black lab, husky, and chow chow genes. The chow chow showed prominently, being that he was a fuzzy and fluffy thing and had the chow chow tail; the black lab came into play with the thin, long legs and the slightly spotted tongue. And the husky was visible only in the dog's bright blue eyes. So, all in all, the animal was beautiful.
He suddenly bounded over towards her, sniffing her and licking and panting and barking a little, too.
Leo, meanwhile, worked wildly on trying to make his bed. He was terrible at putting on his sheet.

Lydia was not sure how she felt about this animal being used to people like her. She was fairly sure that she was not an animal person, be it werewolves to puppies. Still it seemed she was going to be here for a bit now, she might as well get used to it. She was fairly certain that she did not want her butt sniffed, in fact that was the last thing that she wanted in this case. It was hard enough for her to be here without his dog doing that.
When he let the dog out she stayed on her couch arm perch. She didn’t want to go near it, and it seemed not to want to come near her. She heard it bark and nearly flinched. She had never been much of a pet person because often times she had fed on them. Animal blood wasn’t bad, and she didn’t have to kill them either.
She watched Leo leave her with the dog with some trepidation. She didn’t like this at all, not one bit. She looked at the dog that looked back at her. It was a lovely creature, but still she was not sure of it. That was until it bounded over. Lydia let out a yelp and fell onto the couch. She curled up into a ball in an attempt to keep the dog away. She didn’t want to hurt the dog but she didn’t trust it. “L-Leo!” Then the animal calmed a little, evidently having had its fill of barking at her.
Lydia raised her head and looked at him. The dog looked back and then licked her cheek. She made a face and tentatively patted it on the head.

Leo appeared again, laughing a little. "Awwwh, common, Lydia, relax, he likes you!" See? He's lickin' ya, he ain't gonna hurt'ya!" He walked over, scratching Saber behind the ear.
The dog barked, his tail wagging again. Leo chuckled. "Uhmmmm, my bedroom's kinda, like...super duper messy. Soooo you'd be better off in here. Where it's less messy." He shot her a weak smile, shrugging lightly before hooking his hand through the dog's collar. Gently he dragged Saber away towards his food bowl, and begrudgingly the dog obliged.
When he returned to Lydia, he couldn't stop himself from laughing. "Wow, I didn't think the big bad vampire was really that afraid of a puppy. You know, he still is a puppy. He's got a bit of growing left to do; then he won't be up to my knees anymore, but like....hip-height." He nodded his head. For a moment he stood there, rubbing the back of his neck thoughfully. "Uhmmm...the bathroom's right there," he pointed to one door. "Kitchen's behind ya, uhm, my bedroom's right there....it's kinda small I guess, I dunno, but, yeah." He shrugged.
"You need anything or anything?" He started over towards the fridge with the intentions of searching for some ice cream.

“I’m just not very good with animals. I never have been to be honest with you.” Perhaps it was because they didn’t keep pets when she grew up, as if it wasn’t a strange enough world to begin with. She looked at him with some hesitation. If she had dogs around then she usually bit them before they could bite her. Still this one seemed so tame, almost shockingly so. She put out a hesitant hand to scratch its ears.
She raised an eyebrow with little to no surprise when he said that the room was a bit too messy. She was going to have to do something about all of this if she had the chance to. She knew she was only here for one night, but the fact remained. At least then she would not feel so bad about bumming at his place. Maybe she could also send home for some money so that she could pay him. She was sure that her relatives were not going to be happy with her, but what business of theirs was it? Truth was it wasn’t. She looked at a calmer saber now.
She gently pet the dog, making sure that it wasn’t going to bite. It actually seemed to take to her, which was great.
“I don’t need anything.” She just wanted to lay her head down on something and rest.

"Are you sure?" Leo asked politely, arching his brow slightly. He shrugged, turning and walking off for a moment. When he returned, there was a large pillow in his arms, and as well a quilt. He set the two items on the couch.
"For you to sleep with. If you want any more than that, just ask." He scratched the back of his head in thought, frowning at the floor. Then he was looking her up and down curiously, pursing his lips. "If you want something different than that to sleep in, I can either ask Jackie and see if we can get you a night gown, or you can have a shirt of mine or something. Or you can sleep in those. Or you can sleep nude. Personally, I'm totally fine with the first option--in fact, I encourage it!" He winked playfully. "But I don't care really, it's up to you." Nodding, he shoved his hands in his pockets. {Short, I know. >.>

Lydia was not sure what to do exactly in this new situation with him. She wasn’t sure what to say to him, she wasn’t sure how to act towards him. His behavior was so bizarre, maybe she should tell him that. Instead Lydia was simply quiet as she arranged the pillow and blanket on the couch. All the same she knew that she wasn’t going to sleep for a while, it was early yet. She also doubted she could sleep on that couch without covering the windows somehow.
“Thank you.” She said that anyways even if this place was not going to suit her needs. “I don’t think I’ll sleep for a while though, it’s early yet.” Her mind flashed back to his friends and she could not help but scowl. Well maybe her next meal should be one of them. That actually seemed like a good idea to her. Just thinking about it made her stomach grumble a little. She hadn’t eaten food in a while, perhaps she should have gotten something in the bar.
Either way she ignored it and gave Leo a look. “You know, you are a really strange person.”

Leon laughed.
"I was kidding, Lydia, God! Have a sense of humor, chickie." He rolled his eyes. "But yeah, I am strange. I guess. I like to do this thing, called, flirting. And, hitting on girls." He nodded his head knowingly, a calm--but quite expansive--smile on his face. "I suppose I just do it different than everyone else. Oh well." He shrugged his shoulders lightly.
"Good night?" He stood, half turned toward her, one foot out and his left hand raised as if he were poised to grab the doorknob and leave. He stared at her curiously, waiting for her to respond. His eyes were sparkling; he loved to mess with her head. He hadn't a clue why, but she was just the most perfect person to mess with--in his opinion, anyway.
Saber trotted back to his side and sat down next to him so that he could busily begin his nightly routine of chewing on Leo's ankles. The dog was a biter, but he only nibbled gently. As well, Saber slept curled up next to Leo every night. It was a sweet thing to see since most often Leo would--in his sleep--throw his arms around the dog and hug it to his chest as if it were a giant teddy bear.

Lydia wasn’t sure what he was talking about. Like she knew what those things were but she was slightly new to all of that due to her missing gap of time. She was not sure if he was trying to say that he was hitting on her or not. However she was figuring that he was not into her in that sense. Then again she could be wrong but she doubted that she was. She tended to have a sense of these things. And she did not like that he was trying to play with her in this matter, so she decided to play back.
When he said good night she stood and walked over to him. She would have to choose her moves carefully because she generally assumed he was better at this than she was. However she was hoping to catch him off guard. That could not be too hard could it? It seemed that it was all in all. After all fair was fair, wasn’t it? He messed with her all of the time, and she could rarely do anything.
Once Lydia was in front of Leo she pressed her chest up against him and went up on her tiptoes to whisper into his ear. She had to try really hard not to laugh when she did this. “Going to bed so soon Leo?” It was a good throaty whisper as her hands gripped over his ribs and then slid up to his shoulders. Her hands wrapped around t the top of the back of his neck, her fingers twisting his hair a little.

He looked down at her, tilting his head slightly, his eyebrows arched in amusement. When she snuggled up against him, he snaked his arms around her in return, grinning a crooked kind of grin. "Possibly," he replied, blinking once. One of his hands rested on the middle of her back, and the other quite coyly grabbed her butt. "Depends." His shoulders shrugged lightly.
Saber started to whine just then, grabbing onto the back of Leo's pant-leg and chewing at it. In annoyance, Leo kicked his leg a little. Damn dog! Don't screw this up! he thought angrily, glancing backwards and down at the puppy. Meanwhile, Saber happily gnawed away at the denim, a determined expression on his face.
"Shoo," Leo murmured softly, glaring at the animal. It looked up at him, releasing the pants. There was a wet spot there now--puppy-spit. The puppy stared up at him, and Leo sighed deeply. He snorted; the sound was very dog-like, but not too scary or intimidating--and it happened faster than the blink of an eye. The puppy's tail tucked between its legs and it proceeded off, head down, to his food bowl.
Leo glanced back at Lydia, his eyes sparkling with interest as he waited to see what she might do.

Lydia had to try very hard not to laugh at Saber’s antics and Leo’s reactive frustration with the dog. She could not blame Leo for being frustrated but still, it was funny. Also it was a good reaction focus point for her. Really she wanted to jump when Leo’s hand had grabbed her rear. She probably should have slapped him but she didn’t. Instead she smiled as if that was just what she was hoping he would do.
Lydia wasn’t sure if she was going to stab his pride or his sexual frustration tonight, it would be best if she could have at both, but she didn’t want to push her luck in all of that. After all she could only do so much. She had to keep in mind that she still had the upper hand here and she had to keep it. Once his attention was back on her she widened her eyes a little bit. “You’re going to leave me out here all alone?” It was a simple question but a good one for this purpose.
Her lips pulled into a faint pout. “That isn’t very nice.” She turned around within the confines of his arms, leaving a hand on his neck while her other arm rested along his. She lined her rear up against his hips. Using the hand on his neck she ever so gently directed his head down so she could whisper in his ear. “Is it?” She let the question linger for a long moment.
She had to keep herself from smirking.

Leo smiled widely, too surprised and intrigued to realize she was messing with him. He let both his hands slip into her pockets, and he watched her curiously. His gaze softened, and he chuckled, brushing his lips against her cheek apologetically. "No, it's not," he agreed, smiling sheepishly at her.
"Will you be lonely, babe?" He removed one of his hands and started to play with a lock of her hair. "Do you want me to stay?" He was speaking softly, playfully, flirtatiously, and lovingly all at the same time.
His eyes were sparkling. Since she was the only girl who had showed any kind of interest in him in months, he was totally loosing himself. He couldn't help it; his heart was happily pounding against his rib cage and his mind was bounding around like a wild animal--his thoughts were askew. The smile on his face showed that he was quite pleased with this all--and would be quite heartbroken if it ended.

Lydia could feel his fingers against her hips when his hands went into her pockets. She had not expected it but she could handle it, she could easily handle it. She closed her eyes for a moment when his lips brushed her cheek. Lydia liked being close to someone, she liked human contact but this set up had a purpose to it. She was on a mission in a way. Lydia bent her head to the side after that.
He had been kind enough to offer her a place to sleep, even if it was just for tonight, but she wanted him to know her opinion on the dance they seemed to do around each other all of the time. She got herself ready in order to do this part.
“Will I be lonely? Maybe.” Then she pulled away from him, detaching them completely before turning around and pointedly addressing him with her next statement. “Too bad that I’m nobody’s one night stand.” She kept her eyes on him, wanting to make sure that he really understood her on this point. If it hurt his pride, so be it. She wasn’t going to play this game with someone who wasn’t interested in her, like him.

Leo smiled and had been about to murmur something in reply, but all of the sudden she was pulling away. He frowned, his eyes widening and his arms raising slightly in confusion. And then he was scowling, his brow furrowed deeply, knitting in the center of his forehead. "I--"
He struggled to say something intelligent and not-rude. He'd been played! She'd been messing with him! He was shocked. Leon had honestly not thought she was capable of being a little heart-breaker, but apparently, she was. But why? Hadn't he made it apparent that he kinda liked her? Hadn't she noticed that? Or was she too thick headed?
He opened his mouth, and then closed it, feeling his face burn with a mixture of shame and confusion. He swallowed. "Look, I...." He sighed, his forehead smoothing and his arms falling back to his sides. One quickly raised again, however, and he rubbed the back of his neck, his eyes focused on his feet. "Whatever, then, I, uhm, am sorry." He glanced up at her, his lips slightly pursed.
"But, I would like to know who said it would be a one night stand." He looked her in the eyes, his brow knitting again. He shook his head, sighing deeply. "Whatever, whatever," he mumbled after a moment. His pride was too wounded to allow him to stand there much longer, so he turned away again, shoulders slumping, eyes averted. One could easily imagine him as a puppy, like Saber; tail between his legs and ears flattened against his head.
