Lorcan shoved his hands into the pockets of his hoodie, and readjusted himself on the park bench. He'd gotten off early from his shift at the hospital, but hadn't had time to change out of his scrubs. The park was covered in a light layer of snow that was enough to make the world prettier but not enough to disrupt normal life.

He could spot Lorcan from a distance and didn't have any problem making sure that it was him as he approached the bench. Coming up from behind, he placed his hands on Lor's shoulders and chuckled. "Cold?" he asked him, slipping off his hood.

Lorcan lifted his head back to see Mel. "Mildly." He smiled, pulling on Mel's jacket to kiss him quickly before releasing his grip on him. "You're late." He stated.

Mello blinked, surprised by how quick the kiss started and how it ending just as fast. He shrugged, an apologetic expression on his face. "I know. It happens," he responded with a frown.

Lorcan stood, putting his hands in his scrub pockets. "It's alright, you're lucky its pretty outside, Or else I'd be home sleeping." He told him lightly, but started on the paved path that twisted through the park. "So What kept you?"

"That's not true," Mello shot back. "You would have stayed up all night in pouring rain for me, I know it." He smirked, raising an eyebrow at Lor's question. "Just running late, that's all."

Lorcan scoffed. It was kind of true. He'd done that once when they were first dating, because he didn't know of his partners tendancy to ignore chonology. By ever since he held it as proof that Lorcan somehow was more committed to their meetings then he was. "No I wouldn't, I have work tomorrow." He said simply.

He shrugged. "Work's not as important," he said simply, indifferently, not realizing how it really was important to Lorcan. That was the one difference between them; Mello couldn't give less of a fuck about this 'medical' stuff - or just work in general.

Lorcan didn't reply. He knew Mello's opinions on his work, and how he thought it was stupid to want to do it. He let out a slow breath, watching it fog up infront of them and then taking Mellos free hand.

"You got a problem?" Mello asked him, glancing his way and squeezing his hand tightly.

"Yeah, a big blonde one." He said lightly, offering him a smile. "Where are we going?" He asked, wanting to get off the topic that lead to a road he knew he didn't want to go down right now.

Mello noticed the sudden change of subject but didn't mention it. "Who says we have to go anywhere?" he responded with furrowed eyebrows.

"Does that mean we can go home?" He asked, knowing the answer was yes. He was exhausted, and being out in the cold made him just want to be home even more. "Pretty Please."

Lorcan smiled, tugging on his hand and speeding up their pace enough to get them back at the house in less than five minutes. When they arrived he pushed open the door, leading him inside into the warm heated house.
