Mad...isn't the right word. I'm not really mad at you as much as I am...disappointed. But Not all at you either." She paused as he pulled her to him. "You for doing it, but me for allowing you too." She shrugged, but didn't lean into his embrace.

"Understandable," he replied simply, not saying anymore. He didn't want to bother her or say the wrong thing, like he had the tendency to do very often.

His face told what his body didn't, and that was an undeniable discomfort with the situation. "What is wrong?" She asked, leaning into him a little bit, as edge to get him to answer and not to just push her away.

"Nothing I can't fix by myself," Matt replied with a quick kiss to her head. "Don't you worry about it. And I'll make all this up to you, I promise."

She prused her lips together not believing a word of it anymore and pressed on her tip-toes to kiss him deeply. "Don't." She sighed the word into his lips as she slowly pulled back and gently let herself slip from his grasp. She turned, grabbing her bag from the floor and putting it on her shoulder before heading towards the door. Stop me.

Matt stood there, confused, as she turned from him and made her way towards the door. He froze for a second before following her for a few steps and grabbing her arm when he reached her - "Follow your own advice, eh? Don't."

Her breath caught internally as she felt his grip on her arm. "Don't?" She repeated softly, turning her head to look over her shoulder at him.

"You heard me. Don't," he repeated, his eyes narrowed. "Please."

She nodded, happy he'd stopped her, but still not satisfyed with his reaction. He didn't seem to be doing it because he really wanted her here, but because he felt responsible. "Give me a reason to stay." It was supposed to be a demand, but it turned out more like a sad question or a rejected lover.

"Because." He paused for a second, though he spoke before he could even think. "Because I want you here. Because I sincerely want you here, and to be perfectly honest, I don't think I could go on without you. And I don't deserve you - but dear, I'm hoping you'll be merciful and choose to let me go on living with you."

Lucinda looked him over, the words didn't fit him, especially not the him she'd seen in the past night. The vengeful, bitter Matthew that was driving her mad as opposed to keeping her sane like he'd used too. He'd been acting like Griffin to be honest. But this, this sounded like her Matt. She let her bag slide off her shoulder and hit the carpet with a soft thud.

A smile met Matt's lips. "Is that a yes? Does that mean you'll stay?" he asked her, knowing the answer already and pulling her in for a kiss on the forehead.

"Not unless you," She started, letting him pull her to him. "Stop kissing my damn forehead." She muttered as he did so. It was sweet most of the time. But now was not the time she wanted to feel comforted. She wanted to feel wanted.

"Whatever," Matt grumbled, rolling his eyes and then stopping for a second, freezing in place before pulling her in for a deep kiss. This had better make her feel wanted.

She grinned against his lips, gripping his shirt between her fingers. "Thank you." She murmured. Not for the kiss, but for being there. For taking her back despite her inital leaving. She knew it'd be a while before they got back to how they'd been back then, especially now that she was changed, but at least now she had the option to get that back.
