Good morning, beautiful - how was your night? Mine was wonderful with you by my side.
Matthew's arms were wrapped around her fragile body, his fingers tangled in her pale blonde hair. His eyes opened slowly, staring straight up at the ceiling and then moving down to glance at Lucinda. "Morning," he whispered quietly, slipping away from her and sliding off the bed. He slipped on the t-shirt nearest to him, making his way towards the kitchen to get her a glass of water. He knew what it was like the morning after being turned, and he'd do whatever he could to help her. His lips still slightly stained with blood, he pulled out a glass, filling it with cold water and walking back towards his bedroom.

Rolling onto her side Lu was about to say something back when she found he'd disappeared. A few seconds later the sound of water running alerted her that he was in the kitchen. She groaned and rolled back onto her stomach, curling herself into a tight ball beneath the sheets. Her hand grazed her neck in the movement and she felt the soft tissue of newly forming scars, faster healing was the nicest thing about this so far.

Stepping through the doorway, Matt held out the glass of water towards Lucinda. "Drink it," he told her, setting it on the table beside the bed and letting her drink at her own will. He slid in beside her, shaking her gently and leaning down to kiss her forehead. "You feeling any better?" he asked her cautiously.

Lucinda looked up at him, taking the water and sitting up. "Did I really try to sleep with you? Or was that a really bad dream?" She questioned, not saying sleeping with him would be bad, just bad under the circumstances that she got rejected and how embarrassing it had been.

"Well..." Matthew began, shrugging with one shoulder as he frowned. He didn't want to hurt her, though it would be better if he just told her the truth. "Yeah. You did. And yes, I refused," he told her flat out, stroking her hair and then running his fingers through it. "You want your water?" he questioned her in an attempt to change the subject.

As an answer she took a long drink from the glass, before resting it on her thigh, staring at her hands. "Sorry then." She said after a moment, deciding that was all she really could say.

He lay a hand on her shoulder, rubbing her back gently. "It's fine, love. I appreciated the offer," he murmured with a smirk, memories from the night before slinking back into his mind. He shook his head, shoving away the memories and focusing his attention back to her. "The only reason I denied you was 'cause you were too weak," he added with a shrug. "Any other day I would have went along with it instantly." Although she probably already knew that.

Lucinda smiled slowly. "And when will I be back to normal?" She questioned, turning to look up at him. Her fingers tapped against the glass in her hand, her nails making sweet tinkling noised in the quiet room.

Matt shrugged, locking his gaze with her and practically melting as their eyes melt; that's how... dazzled? Yes, dazzled. That's how dazzled he was by her, especially now that she was one of his own kind. Tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear, he studied her face before opening his mouth to reply. "Uh... a few days at the most, I'd guess. I honestly can't remember what it was like for me," he responded, frowning slightly. He leaned back against the pillow, closing his eyes. "I'm sorry."

She didn't have to ask, and all playfulness in her voice washed away in his current tone of voice. Tapping a few more rhythms on the glass, she tried to think of what to say to make him feel better. "It's okay you killed me." Didn't seem to have that poetic charm that made anyone feel better. Rarely did things put in blunt terms make someone feel better about the situation. "Don't be sorry." She started, setting the glass aside and scooting over to him, tucking her legs under her as she moved to sit at his side and looked up at him.

"It's okay you killed me." That sounded so wrong. And it was, in a way. Putting one arm around her shoulder, he let out a sigh. "Can't help it," he muttered in reply, knowing that not feeling sorry was out of the question. Looking to change to subject, he asked her, "Does it still uh, hurt?"

Lucinda didn't answer, but instead leaned on his shoulder, the same arm looped around her. She didn't want to let him know how freaked out she was about this. She'd lost Griffin and her humanity in one night, and now she had what, immortality and Matt? No, thats not right, Matt had only done what he'd done out of lust and not love. Then again, half the things Griffin had said and done were the product of lust and not love. You'd think you'd get used to it. The thought made her lips twitch towards a frown but she locked her expression in mutuality. She finally settled on a lie."No. It doesn't hurt anymore."

Matthew raised his eyebrows, searching her face for any signs of a lie. He didn't fully believe her, but he decided to let it go. If it hurt and she didn't want to tell him, then that was her problem. He kissed the top of her head, murmuring, "You still mad at Griffin?" He didn't see any reason why she shouldn't be, though he felt the need to bring it up, to make sure.

Griffin is the last thing on my mind right now." She replied, but thought it over for a minute. She was still mad at him, she had to be if she was here with Matt. "But yes." She added, and she felt better for saying it. Felt better for admitting she was upset about it and not just stating facts like she had before. "I'm terribly mad at him, but theres nothing for me to do about it now."

"Hm," Matt responded with a frown, pulling her closer and shaking his head. "I guess you're probably pretty mad at me, too, huh." It wasn't going to hurt to admit it.
